Our Home Energy Program provides income eligible residents of Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties by assisting with PGE or propane bills and energy saving home improvements that may include weather stripping, insulation and appliances, as well as education on reducing energy costs and budget counseling.

Income Guidelines

 

MONTHLY HOUSEHOLD GROSS INCOME CAN NOT EXCEED:

  • One client household up to $3,170.00

  • Two client household up to $4,145.41

  • Three client household  up to $5,120.83

  • Four client household up to $6,096.25

  • Five client household up to $7,071.58

  • Six client household up to $8,047.00

  • Seven client household up to $8,229.91

Eligibility Requirements for all Energy Programs

Residents must submit a completed application and other documentation to apply for benefits. Note that:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States

  • Applicant must be a resident of the County in which they are applying for service. 

To apply for assistance for any of our Energy programs, contact us first so that we can determine your eligibility and get an application to you. The entire process (i.e. from application submittal to the LIHEAP credit appearing on your bill) can take up to 16 weeks, so please continue paying your bills. You will be notified by mail of your application status.

 

Completed applications can be returned by mail, fax or drop off. Appointments are available 9:00am - Noon, Mondays and Wednesdays in Jackson and Sonora, or at the schedule posted below in Calaveras County:

  • Mondays @ Calaveras Health and Human Services 10:30-1:30

  • Thursdays @ Murphys Library 10:00-1:00

  • Fridays @ Calaveras Health and Human Services 1:00-4:00

To expedite service, please have all requested items with you and your application completed.
