Utility bill help

We may be able to help you pay your PG&E or propane bill.

Utility Bill Assistance

Whether you are a tenant or homeowner, our services may include payment of some or all of your current PG&E or propane bill. We work with most propane providers across the tri-county area and make payments directly to the propane vendor on your behalf, while PG&E payment are sent from the State directly to PG&E. Although we make a pledge to the utility provider, please note that payments usually take 1-2 billing cycles before being posted to your account.

How to Apply

If you have access to a printer, please download our Energy Assistance and Weatherization application and print the forms to complete them. The application can be printed double-sided. If you do not have access to a printer you can either pick up an application or one can be mailed to you.

Once completed, you can:

  • make an appointment to bring it in to one of our offices

  • place it in the drop box at one of our offices

  • fax it

  • mail it

  • or, if you need help completing the forms, please call one of our offices to speak with an Intake Specialist.

See bottom of this webpage for contact information and addresses.

Important Disclosure

If you are approved for energy assistance, the entire process (i.e. from application submittal to the LIHEAP credit appearing on your bill) can take up to 16 weeks. Please continue to pay your bills. You will be notified by mail of your application status.

ATTENTION!
Currently, the ATCAA energy department has limited funds available for client assistance.
ATCAA is required by the State to manage funds by implementing prioritization.

Priority Points are calculated by an accumulative score based off of:

Families with the lowest incomes and highest energy burden

+

People aged 60 and over

+

Those permanently disabled

+

Families with children under five years of age

=  Priority Points

  • Shut offs are not considered a priority

  • You will be notified by mail of your application status

  • If you are selected for energy assistance, the process can take up to 16 weeks

  • Please continue to pay your bills as there is no guarantee for assistance

Weatherization Assistance is available and not subject to priority points. Apply today to help lower your Energy costs tomorrow.
